BRAZIL 2014: HIGHEST EARNING NATIONAL TEAM FOOTBALL MANAGERS

Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, is ranked 28th position among the 32 biggest earning national bosses at this summer’s FIFA World Cup.
A MailSport review of what the managers of the World Cup nations earn shows that Keshi occupied 28th position on the log with earning £233,750 per year.
Ivory Coast coach, Sabri Lamouchi is the highest rank in Africa as he is ranked 18th position with a earning of £618,125. Algeria coach, Vahid Halihodzic, earns £600,000 to occupy 20th position, while Cameroon coach, Volker Finke occupies 27th position as he earns £423, 500.
With £150,000 per year, Ghana coach, Kwesi Appiah is ranked 31th.
Seven bosses are earning more than £2m per year as they seek the biggest prize in their global game for their employers, who are increasingly not their own nations.
Capello’s £6.7m guaranteed pay puts him far and away in first place with almost double the salary of England coach, Roy Hodgson.
Hodgson is earnings of £3.5m per year and he still is the second-highest boss among the 32 nations at this summer’s World Cup.
Italy’s Cesare Prandelli (£2.58m a year) is the third biggest earner ahead of Luiz Felipe Scolari of Brazil in fourth (£2.4m), Ottmar Hitzfeld of Switzerland in fifth (£2.2m), Joachim Low of Germany in sixth (£2.1m) and Vicente Del Bosque of holders Spain in seventh (£2.02m).
Meanwhile, Eagles’ coach, Keshi shortly after the Nigeria delegation arrived Sao Paulo last night says his mind is not focused on Barcelona and Argentina striker Lionel Messi.
Should the Eagles win their first two matches against Iran and Bosnia Herzegovina, the game with Argentina on June 25 might become academic.
“We have two games before thinking about Messi. We will try to do better than we did in 2010 in South Africa but we’ll see what happens when the World Cup starts.
“Let’s play on Monday and we’ll see how things go,” Stephen Keshi stressed.
In two previous encounters where Lionel Messi started, the African champions lost both, in South Africa 2010 and an exhibition game staged in Bangabandhu National Stadium (Dhaka) three years ago.
