72 Years Old South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma targets 5th Younger Wife

...Is he reviving African culture;?? OR  ???
..
South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma has hinted he may be ready to take a fifth wife to accompany him through old age, the daily newspaper The Star said Wednesday.
During a visit to a Durban township Tuesday in KwaZulu-Natal, the 72-year-old said in Zulu “Angakayakhi indlu yokugugela… laba ngisabathathile nje” (I do have wives but I’m yet to marry my last one). The crowd, most of them elderly, laughed and cheered, The Star said.
Zuma, who on Sunday said he was in “perfect condition” after a stay in hospital in June, had earlier given a speech about the need to respect and tend for older people. Sihawu Ngubane, a professor at KwaZulu-Natal University, was quoted by the newspaper as saying it was fairly standard among Zulu people for a man who practises polygamy to take a last wife for his last years, sometimes the younger sister of one of his wives.
“They call the last wife ‘indlu yokugugela’ (the home in which I will age in) because the responsibility of looking after the husband in their old age predominantly lies with the junior wife, who is often younger than the other wives and more agile in case there is an emergency,” he said.
Zuma, who has around 20 children, has married six times but currently has four wives on the state’s budget, despite criticism from some tax-payers.

Used Cars Prices Sky Rockets From Jan 01, 2015 As Govt Begins Collection Of 70% Duty

The Prices of imported used cars are expected to rise appreciably in the New Year as the Federal Government begins the collection of 70 per cent duty on second-hand vehicles imported into the country from January 1, 2015. This is the second phase of the national automotive policy, which was announced in November 2013.
In a move to encourage local assembling of vehicles, the government had last year raised the import tariff on fully-built cars and used vehicles from 22 per cent to 70 per cent. The first phase of the policy involving the payment of 35 per cent duty came into effect in February 2014.

APGA’s mega rally in Awka

Obiano, Umeh and Ojukwu at the APGA mega rally

There was no pretence about it. Since former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Peter Obi, moved on to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), all eyes have been on his former party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), not for any positive expectation but to see the fulfillment of their expectation: the dismemberment of the party.
Fortunately for the party, Obi left quietly, obviously not intending to be blamed if any ills befall the party. This is some observers’ interpretation of the nature of his departure even though some party members may argue that by leaving the house he helped to build, he did not wish it to stand anymore.
But much credit will go to the indefatigable National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh, and the newly crowned leader and chairman of Board of Trustees (BoT), Governor Willie Obiano, who took the situation in their strides by rallying round APGA members to be resolute and move on as if nothing had happened.
And the test of their hard work came on Saturday, December 20, when the party held a mega rally during which it flagged-off its campaign and showcased its candidates for the 2015 election. It was also the occasion when Obiano handed over the party flags to the candidates. The rally had earlier been shifted from December 18, ostensibly to enable party leaders have a breathing space after a successful Special Conference two days earlier in which Obiano was elevated to the status of party leader and Chairman of BoT.
The party may have surpassed expectations when it eventually held the rally. Some people had imagined that the rally would be low-keyed. How wrong they were. Since the rally was fixed for 10am, they took it for granted that a rally of that magnitude could never start before 12 noon. How wrong they were! As at 11 am, there was no space to place one’s feet at the Alex Ekwueme square, venue of the event.
The organizers must have anticipated the crowd before hand because unlike before, the back-stage of the square were turned into a parking lot. That was not the situation this time. That whole area was cleared to accommodate the anticipated crowd and when the crowd came surging in, that decision was justified. There were so many people at the square that if one throws up grains of sand, literally, they will not find the place on the ground.
The situation was much helped by the candidates who turned out with their supporters in thousands. One after the other they filed past the chairman of Board of Trustees, who handed APGA flag first, to Senatorial candidates, then House of Representatives candidates and then House of Assembly candidates. They all chanted party slogans and campaign slogans of their candidates. The BoT chairman usually gave his words of exhortation and change the candidates to go on and win the election. In all they were 30 candidates for the House of Assembly election, 11 for House of Representatives election, and 3 senatorial candidates.
Obiano said the party is set to sweep the polls in 2015 because of the performance of the party in the last eight years and the prospect the party has for the state. He said the candidates should win because APGA has done well. Outlining the achievements of his administration, he said the party is doing well in all the enablers and has attracted foreign investment worth more than $1.7 billion in the past seven months; created over 4000 jobs and so on. He said his administration has created conducive environment for investment having driven away criminals from the state and the state is now investment friendly. Obiano said his administration has performed well in all sectors and that is good indication that
He asked voters to vote for the party not only in Anambra state but in all the states where the party is fielding candidates.
Umeh in his own speech told thousands of party supporters who filled Ekwueme Square to the brim: “We will not let you down. APGA is a party nobody can challenge in Anambra state. We are together and united. The reason for our being in governance for the past eight years and has transformed the state the mandate of Anambra people is very clear. We won the gubernatorial election and Governor Obiano has started performing wonders”.
He educated them that what Obiano needs now is to be surrounded by law makers from APGA both the State House of Assembly and National Assembly who will always brief him and work in synergy without discordant tunes. Besides, Umeh said, the party’s nomination was largely without a hitch. “APGA is the only political party that conducted proper nomination and those who did not win should work for the party because they will be catered for when we win”.
Umeh once again warned that the party will take legal action against any political party which will attempt to field more than one candidate for one position in the election. If that happens, he warned APGA will asked the courts to disqualify such candidates.
He took time to educate party supporters on how President Goodluck Jonathan, who is the party’s candidate in the election should be voted for stressing that there will be separate ballot boxes for the Presidential election different from the ones for the national assembly electionwe won't let you down

Dr Fred Achem, Counsels On Belly Fats Reduction Techniques Strategies

200448104-001

A Gynaecologist, Dr Fred Achem, on Tuesday advised Nigerians to be well informed on how to reduce belly fats to avoid health risk associated with it.
Achem, who works with the Feropod Hospital, Abuja, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said that too much intake of fats, carbohydrates and animal protein would reduce the functions of the vital organs in the body.
The gynaecologist said that belly fats crop up due to accumulation of fats in the abdominal region of the body, thereby causing discomfort for the person involved.
“The concept of being big in Nigeria is a signature to arrival, this is a misnomer, and people have to keep their weight as low as possible.
“Even, when the cheeks become chubby, it is an evidence of wrong living, this is just a full deposit of fats.
“The serious matter is that you are loading your brain, the heart, liver and other vital organs with fats, thereby blocking the required blood flows and needed oxygen from flowing,’’ Achem said.
He said that men usually develop fats in the tummy, the neck, thighs, with exceptional cases in the backside.
Achem said most men develop belly fats as result of excessive intake of alcohol, saying that genetically, men were more prone to coronary disease than women.
He said that due to lack of information, most Nigerians eat anyhow, not minding the content and health risk associated with it.
“In women, belly fats could be as a result of pregnancy and breastfeeding,’’ he said.
Achem said a lot of breastfeeding women open up their appetites to consume whatever they feel like eating, adding that it was ideal for mothers to return to their original.
He advised nursing mothers to eat good vegetables, fruits, little bit of animal protein, lot of plant protein and a bit of dairy foods.
Achem said that eating appropriate food was needed for a mother to make enough breast milk for the baby, and not carbohydrates and fats.
He advised women to avoid taking ripe fruits, saying that they contained glucose which could easily be converted to fats.
“It is the consciousness of what you really need that will put you on a strong footing for your health and the babies.
“One has to be very careful when eating because it is a balanced diet that matters after all, and by exercising daily to reduce portion of food,” Achem said. (NAN)

Tompolo Warships: Junaid ‘bombs’ Jonathan, Tompolo

Warships: Junaid ‘bombs’ Jonathan, Tompolo

Abuja — The controversy over the acquisition of five war ships by a company linked to a former militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo for Nigeria, has continued unabated, with a Northern politician, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, describing the action as a threat to the nation’s fragile security and peace. Mohammed, a Second Republic lawmaker, told newsmen that the Federal Government had some ulterior motives to protect by usurping the function that should be performed by the Nigerian Navy and transferring same to the former Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta, MEND, leader.
The politician noted that the attempt by both the Federal Government to claim that the boats were bought by Tompolo’s firm for the use of the navy and NIMASA was an after-thought that did not add up and would haunt the administration for a long time to come. Describing Jonathan as one who is keen on protecting the personal interest of his kinsmen at the expense of the nation, Mohammed wondered why the administration allowed a private individual from the President’s tribe to usurp the key function of the Nigerian Navy.
“The President should be kind enough, since he is the Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, to explain to Nigerians where he drew the authority to transfer the functions of the Nigerian Navy to a private individual from his tribe.

APC politician’ performing ritual while naked emerges (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

APC POLITICAL PARTY OF NIGERIA
A shocking video allegedly showing a Lagos State politician performing a strange ritual while naked has been posted on the internet by a controversial Nigerian pastor.
The video titled, ‘APC – A Satanic Party’ was posted on video-sharing website YouTube by ‘Archbishop Samson Mustapha Benjamin’, the General Overseer of Lagos based ministry Resurrection Praise Ministries International, popularly known as ‘Jehovah Sharp-Sharp’.

In it, a man he alleges to be Hon. Olusola Israel Adekunle, the local government chairman of Alimosho, Lagos, is seen stark naked in a swampy area sitting on a horse. He is heard muttering some unintelligible words before pouring a reddish substance all over him which the cleric described as ‘human blood’.
The video was preempted by an article on a Nigerian blog several months ago, revealing that during the ‘ritual’, Hon Adekunle had placed curses on his political enemies while appealing for favour in the eyes of the national leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
In his comments, ‘Archbishop’ Benjamin alleges that the same ritual has been undertaken by all prominent members of APC, describing the political party as ‘satanic’.
“Has Papa E.A Adeboye of RCCG allowed Pastor Prof. Yemi Osibanjo go through the same ritual process or will he allow him to do it,” the cleric then ponders, insisting that although Adeboye is his spiritual father, he has permitted politics to compromise his Christian faith.
Adekunle has yet to respond to the divisive video.
