One time Klu Klux Klan (KKK) grand dragon Frazier Glenn Cross was once arrested having sex with a black transvestite prostitute in the back of a car according to a new report which surfaced as part of his ongoing murder trial.
Mr Cross, 73, also known as Frazier Glenn Miller, faces charges for the killing of three people outside a Jewish community centre and a retirement community in Kansas City. It is alleged that he fatally shot two people at the Jewish centre in Greater Kansas City and one person at Village Shalom Retirement Community, in Overland Park on April 13.
Police investigations into his past, however, revealed evidence showing Mr Cross was arrested in Raleigh, North Carolina in the 1980s, after he was caught him in the back seat of a vehicle, with a black male prostitute who was dressed as a woman. Both men were said to be involved in a sex act at the time of their arrest.
A well known anti-Semitic gunman, Mr Cross has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder in connection and the authorities are expected to file hate crimes charges against him in the coming weeks. Former federal prosecutor Doug McCullough has already said he remembers the incident in the 1980s when Mr Cross was arrested.
Mr McCullough added:"It was pretty shocking because of his personal stances that he had taken. " Now a now a judge, Mr McCullough said the details are salacious.
Despite the arrest, however, Mr Cross was not charged in connection with the prostitution arrest. Although not charged with that crime, Mr Cross, once served three years in federal prison in the late 1980s for weapons charges and for threatening a race war.
At the time, he avoided a longer sentence in exchange for testifying against members of the White Patriot Party. Because of Mr Cross' testimony against the party, he was reportedly placed in the federal witness protection programme.
