 Nigeria:  Lekki - Lagos Based Tenants Steal Property And House Accessories Worth 5 Million Naira in Lekki,  - Crime - Naija Expose Media


Our Lagos correspondent was called to a rising trend report in  the Lagos , Lekki axis of Lagos state whereby tenants loot house accessories upon expiration of lease or eviction notice issued . We have been contacted by three Property Managers to such similar incidences. The one reported below involves Tenant of working class including Media managers , Quantity surveyor , Banker , Gym Owner which makes the report more concerning and troubling and in fact shameful . This trend must be made public so other victims can know how to seek legal assistance if and when this occurs as these ruthless people have been sued for theft namely Adrianna Adebiyi, Olalekan,  Igbe Izegbuwa, Oluwaseun Temitayo Darabidan .
These tenants upon being served with the required statutory notices, still made a conscious effort not to vacate the property , locked up the up the property unlawfully. A a situation that lead to loss of income to the landlord who has filed for  potential damages claims against the defaulting tenants at the Magistrate court in Lagos state .

TENANT ARE GENERALLY REQUIRED TO:
  1. Duty to pay all rates and charges not required by the law to be paid by the landlord.
  2. To pay rents at the time and manner required.
  3. To keep the property in a good and tenantable condition at all times except for reasonable wear and tear.
  4. Duty not to sublet any part of the property without the written permission of the landlord.
  5. To not carry out any alterations without first getting the written consent of the landlord.
These tenants who are working class Ladies in Lagos Island of Lagos Nigeria,  declined to follow these rules , held the property for a year without payment of rents totaling 9 Million Naira  , piled up utility bills unpaid and the worst came upon news of pending eviction by the Magistrate court Bailiff

  embarked on a callous, malicious , vindictive and criminal act of vandalism and stealing . As illustrated in the pictures they stole WATER HEATERS , ELECTRICAL SOCKETS , WALL SOCKETS , IMPORTED KITCHEN CABINETS , WARDROBES, POP LIGHTINGS , ELECTRICAL LIGHT LAMPS, NEPA CUTOUTS , CABLES to the tune of Five Million Naira at the time our Lagos correspondent visited the crime scene .
