CORRUPTION:: SEC DG Accuses House Chairman Of Demanding N44m Bribe

SEC DG Accuses House Chairman Of Demanding N44m Bribe

The woman who was said to have spent about N850,000 on Food in one day, Ms. Oteh Arunma, has accused the Chairman of the House of Reps Committee investigating her of demanding N44 million bribe. She said it was her refusal to give in to the demand that led to the "black mail" against her.

In fact, it was drama galore for spectators and observers of the probe on Thursday in the Commuttee room as Ms Oteh went from one allegation to the other, with a view to regain her tarnished credibility.

She specifically accused the Committee Chairman,...
Hon. Hembe, of demanding a bribe of N39million from SEC for the hearing. And another N5million from the Commission to enable him travel to the Dominican Republic to attend an Emerging Market conference without embarking on the journey.

However, in a show of strength, Hon. Hembe denied the allegations and immediately called on the EFCC to launch an investigation into the matter. The hearing continues next Tuesday.
