Bombings: No war has ever produced positive result - Mark

The President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, on Sunday decried the unabating wave of terrorism claiming scores of lives in the country, saying "this is uncalled for and clearly avoidable."
Reacting to the latest bomb attack at the worship centres in Bayero University Kano, Mark stated that no matter the anger or grievances in a man's mind, taking the life of another cannot provide a solution.
"This  is ungodly. It is inhuman and does not enjoy the support of any right thinking member of the society," he lamented.

Beside, Mark called on religious leaders across the divide to unite against these forces of evil, saying: "We must collectively rise against the perpetrators of violence taking the lives of our people and property at will unchallenged, because no one knows the next victim."
He also tasked the security operatives to collaborate with one another and redefine their strategies that would bring positive results and reminded them that Nigeria has become a laughing stock on account of the unabating violent attacks leading to loss of precious lives and property.
Mark sympathised with the victims of the attack and asked all Nigerians to brace up to the challenge in order to stop this menace.
Meanwhile, Mark has sent a message of condolence to the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, over the fatal accident, which claimed the lives of three journalists, with several others injured in his convoy on Saturday.
In the condolence message, Mark prayed for the soul of the deceased and the quick recovery of the injured.
He added that the deceased died in their line of duty and tasked the governor, the managements of Africa Independent Television and Independent Television to ensure that the victims do not die in vain.
Mark also consoled the Nigeria Union of Journalists on the death of their colleagues and enjoined them not to be deterred by the setback as the nation still relies on them to  provide the needed roadmap for socio-economic and political transformation.
