It is the end of the road for the ambition of a former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timi Sylva, to return to the Government House.
The Supreme Court on Friday morning (today), threw out his suit challenging the decision of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, not to nominate him as the candidate for the gubernatorial election.
The court said it is the exclusive preserve of parties to decide the candidates for elections.
Sylva had gone to court to challenge the nomination of the Bayelsa State Governor, Chief Seriake Dickson, as the candidate for the governorship election in Bayelsa State.
He also faulted the primaries that produced Dickson.
He said that the initial primaries, which he won, should have been used as the basis for the selection of a candidate for the election.
Details coming soon.
