In A Dramatic Twist The British Government Has Denied Ever Returning Any Loot Recovered From Joshua Dariye In 2006. From information available to us, £1.28 million of stolen assets have been returned to Nigeria since 2006 by United Kingdom. It is on record that His Excellency the then British High Commissioner, Mr. Bob Dewar
presented a series of cheques to His Excellency Foreign Minister Maduekwe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 23rd April2009.
In a letter dated April 27 and signed by one Chris Moden, Africa Directorate, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, London the UK Government replying an FOI letter of Victory and Rose Associates letter dated April 23,2012 and signed by Osuagwu Ugochukwu Esq wrote in part:

Thank you for your email of 24 March 2012 asking for documents that the Foreign and Commonwealth Office(FCO) holds regarding a further $40 million of stolen assets being returned to Nigeria.
I am writing to confirm that we have now completed the search for the information which you requested and can confirm that the FCO does not hold any information relevant to your request. DFID, CPS or Treasury may old information relevant to your enquiry.
If you would like them to look into this further, please submit are quest direct to them.
The question now is why has the British Government held on to the £1.28 and £40 million of stolen assets?Where is the Money now?Does it also mean that the Ibori loot may not also be returned to Nigeria?
