Raffles Van Exel: Con Artist Or Entertainment Genuis?

Still A Rumor

Raffles Van Exel says he’s an entertainment consultant and has found himself connected to some of the biggest stars on the planet including: Prince, Chaka Khan, Michael Jackson and now Whitney Houston.
His association with Whitney has made him the target for tabloids — he’s being called her drug dealer and is accused of selling her casket picture to the National Enquirer.

The Dutch singer/actor/promoter has kept silent, but friends close to Raffles describe him as a philanthropist and a true friend to Whitney — he even put a towel over her lifeless body to preserve her dignity. He admits to cleaning out the hotel room, but tells friends it was to keep someone from selling one of her sheet’s or a pillow case on Ebay.
RumorFix has located a video uploaded by the website, Diary of a Hollywood Street King that gives us insight into this mysterious man.
On the video, Raffles admits to pulling off some huge cons on celebrities and event promoters, saying “I’m going to educate you on what to do and what not to do.”
He admittedly breaks the rules, but says he does it “elegantly.”
Raffles, who also sings on this video, talked his way into the 2003 Billboard Music Awards by appearing with crutches (even though he didn’t need them.)
A security guard in a golf cart picked him up and, “the fool drives us directly past every security — every ticket place,” Raffles proudly says.
Then he spotted Michael Jackson’s dad, Joe Jackson, and takes over. “[Joe] was without his PR agent — we basically took charge.”
Raffles concludes by saying, “A lot of people have been asking me ‘How do you do it?’ Is it really that easy?’ Yes it is.”
