Niger state assembly impeaches Speaker, Isah Kawu
Incoming Speaker below is :The newly elected speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Adamu Usuma has described his ascension to his new position as a design of God.
Mr Usuma said this while addressing journalist shortly after he was elected by 21 of 24 members of the Niger state House of Assembly.
The speaker, of the Niger State House of Assembly, Honourable Isah Kawo, has been impeached. This means the Assembly has had three different speakers in just one week. The tussle over the leadership of the Niger State House of Assembly took a
dangerous turn yesterday as the state government drafted armed soldiers and policemen to take over the legislative house.
The armed soldiers were drafted to the place the House of Assembly premises allowed only lawmakers and staff members to go into the premises after being thoroughly searched by the security men.
