Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River has described the loss of more than 159 Nigerians in the ill-fated Dana plane crash as a grave tragedy that affects every Nigerian
 In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary/ SA Media,Mr Christian Ita,Imoke said the weekend disaster has shook the nation to its marrows.
He then advised the relevant stakeholders  to tackle challenges in the safety of aviation so as to forestall similar incidents. 
ImokeSympathizing with the victims and relatives of those who died in the air crash,Imoke prayed God to comfort those in mourning and give them strength to stand these harrowing moments. 
Imoke explained that for Nigeria the tragedy presents a rare opportunity for soul searching and strategic solutions to preserve the future of aviation in the country. 
He described the the 3-day national mourning declared by President Goodluck Jonathan as a great honour to the death even though no national gesture could atone for such a colossal loss of human lives and material resources. 
Imoke expressed confidence that the nation will rebound from this tragedy to devise an enduring safety roadmap for the aviation industry.
