As officials clear the nearly week-old DANA crash site, tearing down damaged structures, several officials have come visiting. Today representatives of DANA Airline, who declined to speak to Journalists, say they have only visited the crash site to examine the damages on the houses affected.

Indian High Commissioner Mahesh Sachdev also visited the site today. He told journalists that his country also lost some of its nationals in the crash. “The co-pilot is also an Indian”, Mahesh said, as he totaled up the count of Indians believed to be involved in the DANA Air crash of Sunday.

Nigerian Minister of Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji also visited the site and when asked what he intends to do about the electric poles and cables that were pulled down on Popoola street at the crash site, and the possible time of restoring power to the street, Nnaji prodded the Engineer in charge of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Zone, Engr. O.C. Akamonu, who flanked him on the site to answer the question. Akamonu assured that men from his company are taking immediate action to restore power to the street.

From the leftwing, Save Nigeria Group spokesperson, Comrade Yinka Odumakin, on his visit to the site, also today, blamed the crash on corruption.
“If those who were paid for their various jobs actually did them, nobody would have certified such a plane to fly in our airspace”, declared Odumakin, while recalling Captain Jerry Agbeyegbe, the outspoken air-safety activist who was killed in 2004 for his perpetual campaigning for aviation safety.
