FDIC sues ex-directors of troubled failed OMNI BANK , GEORGIA

ATLANTA (AP) -
Federal regulators have sued 10 former directors and officers of a failed Georgia bank whose collapse led to criminal charges against several of its top officials.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation on Friday accuses the operators of Omni National Bank of "numerous, repeated and obvious" violations of the bank's loan policies.
It also claims former bank chief executive Stephen Klein and president Irwin Berman failed to properly supervise loans. The complaint names several defendants who faced criminal charges after the bank's collapse, including former bank vice president Jeffrey Levine.
He was sentenced to five years in prison in 2011 after pleading guilty to cooking the bank's books to mask millions of dollars in losses.
Berman declined to comment. An attorney for the other defendants wasn't immediately identified.
