FG must probe SSS over suspects recycling - ACN

The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), has urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to probe what it called a recycling of suspects by men of the Department of State Security Service (SSS).
This was made known by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, who was responding to news of the arrest of suspected killers of Olaitan Oyerinde, an aide to Edo Governor, Adams Oshiomhole.

The Party made reference to pictures published on a national newspaper which it says showed that some of the suspects paraded by the agency on March 14th for their roles in the kidnap and murder of a British, Christopher MacManus and an Italian, Franco Lamolinara, were the same suspects recently paraded by the SSS for Oyerinde's murder.
 SSS ACTING MOVIE WITH SUSPECTS?

"Three of the suspects paraded by the SSS for killing Oyerinde appear to wear a complete replica of the same shirts worn by the suspects paraded for killing the foreigners in March. The picture published by the newspaper is so compelling that we are forced to ask a number of questions from the SSS. Is the agency recycling suspected criminals and deceiving the people that it is indeed solving criminal cases?" Lai Mohammed queried.

"Does this systemic gimmick go higher than the security agency? For how long has this game been going on? What exactly does the government know about this? And is the PDP privy to this recycling? If not, why was the party so quick to ask the ACN to apologise over the murder of Oyerinde?’’ he added.

The ACN also queried how such an agency of government can curtail terrorism challenges in the country or fight the country's security lapses when the agency itself engages in questionable activities.

"The reason it's important to get to the root of the whole case is because the role of the SSS is so critical in ensuring peace and security in the country”.

The party also criticised members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for demanding an official apology from ACN and Adam's Oshiomole over claims of its involvement in Oyerinde's murder.
