Breaking: Kano: 2 Motorcycle riding killer have shoot and kill Evangelist , husband and child at point blank

Two motorcycle-riding gunmen killed a Christian couple and their child as they were about to leave their home for church on Sunday in Kano, a northern Nigerian city wracked by violence blamed on Boko Haram extremists, police and residents said.

“Two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on the car, killing the woman and her child on the spot while her husband died later in hospital,” Kano State police spokesman Magaji Majia said.

He said the couple’s other child escaped unhurt in the shooting in the Kwanar Masallachi neighbourhood on the outskirts of the city.

Evangelist Nkiruka from Imo state was a vocal voice at the Pentecostal Life Assembly located at Abeokuta Road.

Within the last two weeks, gun men on motorbike have been killing identified people in the city of Kano.

Non-natives are frightened, as most of them who live outside Sabon Gari are relocating.

The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Kano, Chief Michael Tobias Idika has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to protect lives and property of Nigerians irrespective of where they live and where they come from.

“We have been abandoned by our leaders, both those at the National Assembly and the governors. We are being slaughtered like chicken every day; and nobody is asking questions as to where the leaders are.

“We have lost confidence in the security arrangement of governor Muhammad Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso; and Ohanaeze in Kano demand that he should be summoned to explain why all this things are happening.”

Idika further stated that in two weeks, about eight Igbos have been killed by the bullets of terrorists in Kano, “and Kano state government has not deemed it fit to pay condolence to the bereaved families. Yes, we are aware that not only the Igbos have been killed, and on this note we call on the Federal Government to beef up security in the entire North and other parts
of Nigeria.”

On November 17, gunmen on a motorcycle shot dead a lawmaker at a meeting spot in the same area, prompting a dusk-to-dawn curfew to stem the wave of similar attacks.

Boko Haram carried its deadliest ever attack in Kano in January, killing at least 185 people, and has been blamed for scores of drive-by killings in the city.
