Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Azubuike Ihejirika yesterday accused former Infantry Commander, Jaji, retired Major General Muhammad Isa of knowing about the planned attack on the Jaji military cantonment a day before the incident but did nothing to prevent it.

The COAS at a press conference  in  Abuja said Gen Isa had an intelligence report that the cantonment was to be attacked but failed to do something to prevent it.

His words: “we have received report of investigation that report got to him, (Isa) one day before the attack but Isa did not give instruction to subordinates to take action. When I met him at Chief of Army conference in Asaba, I asked him why are you here when your house is on fire .

 He did not say anything. The GOC 1 Division received same intelligence report and stayed in Kaduna.Investigation is still ongoing to ascertain whether Major General Isa’s attitude is negligent.”
