President Goodluck Jonathan will fly to South Africa to attend the finals of the African Cup of Nations, AFCON, where the the Super Eagles will trade tackles with Burkina Faso.
President of the Nigerian Football Federation, Aminu Maigari, confirmed after the Super Eagles soared past their Malian counterparts in Durban that Mr. Jonathan would be in Johannesburg to cheer the Nigerian team during the finals.

"This is a victory that we dedicate to all Nigerians," Mr. Maigari said. "It was a magnificent performance by our team, but I insist that the Super Eagles must keep their heads and focus on the final match because we cannot afford to disappoint President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday."

A largely underrated Super Eagles destroyed Mali 4-1 to zoom into the final for the first time since 2000 when they lost to Cameroon at home. Sunday’s game would be the seventh time Nigeria would be playing in the final of Africa’s biggest football showpiece.
