Imo State deputy governor, Jude Agbaso impeached by state assembly over Bribe Allegations

Following weeks of power tussle filled with intrigues the  Imo state house of assembly, ostensibly with the backing of Imo governor, Rochas okorocha, finally succeeded in impeaching the state's deputy governor, Jude Agbaso.
Only 24 hours earlier, Agbaso's plea to an Owerri High Court to stop the impeachment proceedings against him had failed.
The Imo assembly overwhelmingly voted (25 out of 26 members) to impeach the former deputy governor who insists that he is innocent and is only being used as the fall guy in the political battle between Gov. Okorocha, and Martins Agbaso, the elder broy=ther to the deputy governor.
The case brought against the governor however, involved his alleged demand of a bribe of N417 million from J-PROS limited, a construction firm.
Agbaso's notice of impeachment was earlier served to him by the assembly via the electronic and print media, because, according to the spokesperson of the House, Acho Ihim, the governor went underground since the assembly indicted him for corruption.
