Breaking: Nigerian Court of Appeal Says Victor Umeh Remains APGA Chairman

APGA
Barely few hours after the National Convention of the All progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), took place at the Women Development Centre, Awka, on Monday morning and Chief Maxi Okwu elected as the new National Chairman, the Enugu Division of the Court of Appeal has granted the stay of execution appeal filed by embattled Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh. With this Judgment, Chief Victor Umeh remains the APGA Chairman.
Recall that the Enugu High Court, presided over by the state Chief Judge, Justice Innocent Umezurike, had last month sacked the entire members of the APGA National Working Committee (NWC), insisting that the 2010 Convention that brought them to power did not follow due process.
And following the ruling which literally decapitated the party, Umeh headed for the appellate court seeking for stay of execution as well as nullification of the said ruling.
Governor Peter Obi’s faction of APGA reportedly held the National Convention of the party on Monday all in the bid to avert the anticipated verdict of the court which was held this morning.
