Arik Air Hostess Temitayo Olubunmi Daramola, caught with hard drugs at Heathrow remanded in Uxbridge detention



The management of Arik Air has admitted that two of its crew members were arrested for allegedly possessing banned drugs suspected to be cocaine after one of its flight to the U.K. They also promised to cooperate with British authorities investigating the the two cabin crew members.
This is the second time in 18 months that Arik flight attendants have been caught with drugs at the Heathrow Airport.
The arrested suspects are Temitayo Olubunmi Daramola, who was found in possession of 6kg of cocaine and Delita Abibimgbi  who was in possession of 60 packets of cigarettes. UK customs allows maximum of 10 packets of cigarette per passenger.
According to company spokesman, Adebanji Ola, Arik Air was co-operating fully with the U.K. authorities and all other concerned agencies in their investigations.
“Arik Air remains committed to the fight against drug and illicit substances trafficking and will not tolerate the use of any of its aircraft or crew for the courier of banned items and substances,
“Arik Air carries out very stringent checks on all members of staff and its travelling guests ahead of all flights.
“It will continue to focus its attention on measures to prevent the possibility of any future similar incidents.”

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency had earlier said that it would probe two Arik Air crew members allegedly found with cocaine at Heathrow Airport, London.
