Nigerian Man Brandished Knife, Ran From Crash that Killed Woman - Texas Police
A Nigerian man has been charged in the death of a Grand Prairie woman who was fatally injured in a weekend wreck.
Nigerian man Chidozie John Eze, 21, faces a charge of manslaughter in the death of Brigitte Campbell, who died Monday, two days after the crash, police said.Grand Prairie police say Campbell was stopped at a red light at Pioneer Parkway and Belt Line Road about 8 a.m. Saturday when Eze’s Chevy Uplander rear-ended her Ford Focus.
The Focus was pushed through the intersection and into a concrete wall.
After the crash, police said, Eze exited his totaled vehicle brandishing a knife and ran away. He was found about a block away and arrested after a brief standoff. He is being held in the city jail on charges of evading arrest and manslaughter. His bail was set at $150,000.
Campbell, 49, was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center where she died about 4:45 p.m. Monday, police said.
