The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Pius Ewherido has died.
The senator reportedly fell down three days ago and collapsed at his Abuja home and had been hospitalized at the National Hospital Abuja in preparation for treatment in Germany when he suddenly collapsed and died in hospital today. The cause of death is not yet determined but cardiac failure is implicated . May his soul rest in peace.

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Thompson Oliha is dead.
A member of the 1994 African Nations Cup winning squad died Sunday morning.
Former Super Eagles midfielder, Thompson Oliha is dead.
A member of the 1994 African Nations Cup winning squad died Sunday morning.
Until his death, Oliha was one of the coaches at the Kwara State Football Academy in Ilorin.
He was aged 44.
Vanguard gathered Oliha was on the bench yesterday morning when Kwara Football Academy(KFA)boys played a team from Mali. He was said to have complained of Malaria and was taken to an undisclosed hospital in the state capital.
He died in the early hours of today and his body has been deposited at the mortuary.
Confirming his death, Bunmi Adedoyin, Kwara State Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN) told Vanguard that Oliha died Sunday morning in a private hospital in Ilorin.
Fred Edoreh, the Lagos State Chairman of SWAN also confirmed the demise of the former Eagles midfielder.
Oliha played for Bendel Insurance (1985-1987), Iwuanyanwu Nationale (1988-1991), Africa Sports (1992-1993), Maccabi Ironi Ashdod F.C. (1993-1994) and Antalyaspor (1994-1995).
