The Speaker of Rivers State Assembly Rt. Hon. Otelemaba Amachree has been impeached. A new Speaker Hon Evans Bipi has been elected.
This is coming after an initial foiled attempt by five members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to impeach the Speaker was foiled, resulting in a free-for all fight at the chambers of the House earlier today ..
In the ensuing fracas, some members of the House, including the Leader, Hon. Chidi Lloyd and Hon. Michael Chinda were injured.
Chinda, who represents Obio/Akpor Constituency, was taken to the intensive care unit of Saint Patricks’ Hospital in Port Harcourt.
