According to him “there is a saying in my place that once you are a good product, you become the toast of everyone in your community.
In my case, my mum is a woman, by the grace of God, I still have women as my wives, over fifty percent of Nigeria’s population are women, so why won’t I like women”, .If you are in my position won't you like women?..he expressed with a loud laughter

The former military and civilian President, who was at his best throughout the programme, spoke about his early stage in life. Hear him “I grew up from a humble beginning. My parents were very poor, they couldn't afford my education. When it was time for me to start school (Primary) I couldn't get admission into any school in my village. After several futile attempts, I was confided to the house. It was not until about two years later that I was able to secure admission into a primary school outside my village. I trekked about two hours daily to school”

"At the completion of my primary, I now gained admission into Secondary school. At the end of this, there was no way I could precede to the University since my parents couldn't afford it. Although I got an admission, at the same time I also got admission to join the military .I was now left with two options, I opted for the military because I know it will afford me the opportunity to be disciplined.”

When asked what he believed is the real problem of Nigeria,Obasanjo said it is that of Nigerian Leaders
According to him, it is one thing to be given the mantle of leadership and another thing to know how to use such powers.

On the rumour that he is now a Pastor, the ex General said he is not a Pastor but that he went back to school after his tenure to study Christian theology.

“After leaving office, I enrolled into the National Open University to study Christian Religious Studies. I teach Bible studies in the Church, even when I was in office, I was teaching Bible every Sunday at the chapel”.
