Anambra Election:Can INEC Conduct A Free And Fair Election In 2015?

The  inconclusive conduct of the Anambra State Gubernatorial election by INEC has raised a lot eyebrow and dust over INEC's ability to conduct a free and credible election. The election in a State with less that 1.7m voters was bugled by INEC's shoddy preparation and conduct. INEC deployed several thousands of its staff and adhoc staff for the election.Over 30,000 security agents were also on ground for the election, but what came out of it was a total failure.Several voters were disfranchased. Many couldn't find their names in the voters register, one of them was the PDP candidate in the election,Tony Nwoye. His parents and siblings were not also lucky.Result sheets were no where to be found.Electoral materials did not arrive several centers on time. Idemili was the worst affected.Voting did not take place in Obosi. The INEC electoral officer in-charge of Idemili LGA is now under arrest for sabotaging the exercise in the area. This has led the PDP,LP and APC calling for an outright cancellation of the exercise for a new election. INEC on its part says it will rather conduct a supplementary election in some selected polling booths on 30th November 2013.With all these hiccups, many are now doubting Prof Attahiru Jega's ability to conduct a hitch free election in 2015..The argument is that,if he couldn't conduct a free and fair election in a tiny State like Anambra, how would he do that in  country of over 160,000,000.
