Obasanjo Warns Goodluck of possibility of Egyptian Style Uprising in Nigeria

Chief Obasanjo accused the president of denying his purported promise not to seek re-election.   Quoting a proverb, Chief Obasanjo said President Jonathan must have been wrongly advised to go after his opponents, warning that the consequences would be far reaching, capable of causing an uprising as happened in Egypt.

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has replied to the scathing criticism levelled against him by his predecessor Olusegun Obasanjo saying that the recent letter published about his government was unpatriotic, self-serving and malicious.   Earlier this week, former President Obasanjo have written his most damning criticism of the Goodluck administration so far, claiming it was fuelling corruption and encouraging political violence. According to Obasanjo, President Jonathan is equipping killer squads ahead of the 2015 elections and no fewer than 1000 people are said to have been placed on a political watch list.

Furthermore, former President Obasanjo alleged that President Jonathan is secretly training snipers and other armed personnel at the same place the late head-of-state General Sani Abacha, trained his own killers.

In an 18-page letter to the president, titled A letter of Appeal to President Goodluck Jonathan: Before it is too late, former President Obasanjo accused President Jonathan of taking actions that are against the country’s best interests.   Yesterday, President Jonathan responded to the allegations, saying the invectives poured on him were unpatriotic, self-serving and malicious. Adding that he would soon personally reply former President Obasanjo in full measure, President Jonathan has in the meantime asked his aides and government official not to respond to the letter.   President Jonathan's spokesman Reuben Abati, took to Twitter to say: “Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter to President Goodluck Jonathan is unbecoming, self-serving and highly provocative. The presidency acknowledges that it has indeed received the said letter from Chief Obasanjo.   “We find it unbecoming that the letter has been leaked to the media in a deplorable effect to impugn the integrity of the president. While many patriotic, objective and well-meaning Nigerians have already condemned the leaked letter as self-serving, hypocritical, malicious, the president himself will, at the appropriate time, offer a full personal response to the most reckless, baseless, unjustifiable, and indecorous charges levied against him and his administration by the former head of state.”   In the said letter, President Obasanjo wrote: "Nigeria is bleeding and the haemorrhage must be stopped. Allegations of keeping over 1,000 people on a political watch list rather than a criminal or security watch list and training snipers and other armed personnel secretly and clandestinely, acquiring weapons for political purposes like Abacha and training people where Abacha trained his own killers, if it is true, cannot augur well for the initiator, the government and the people of Nigeria.   “Mr President should always remember that he was elected to maintain security for all Nigerians and protect them. No one should prepare to kill or maim Nigerians for personal or political ambition or in the interest of anyone.”   He added that President Jonathan has failed to deliver on his promises to stem corruption, and strengthen national unity and security. Claiming that President Jonathan is determined to win the 2015 presidential election at all costs,

Chief Obasanjo accused the president of denying his purported promise not to seek re-election.   Quoting a proverb, Chief Obasanjo said President Jonathan must have been wrongly advised to go after his opponents, warning that the consequences would be far reaching, capable of causing an uprising as happened in Egypt

He added that the buck of performance and non-performance stops at President Jonathan’s table as head of the government and so he must be blamed for the poor internal security management and the failing war against corruption."   The former President accused President Jonathan of playing divisive politics, destroying the People's Democratic Party (PDP), polarising the country along regional and religious lines and ridiculing Nigeria in the comity of nations. He also blamed the president for the crises rocking the PDP, which culminated in five of its governors defecting to another party. -

WHY OBASANJO ATTACKED JONATHAN

Mallam Idris Mohammed (Dakata, Kano) Wrote::

"You don't expect Jonathan to lick your ass. You must be a wicked man to send nearly 10 names to Jonathan and wanted to force him to make them Ministers. When you were in his position, Did Shagari, Abdulsalami, IBB, Shoneko or Buhari send list of Ministers that must be appointed?

"You want to appoint all Exco of PDP alone and when the party members and the President say No, your start writing baseless letters.
Your political influenced have dropped to nearly zero and it is wise for you to proceed straight to retirement and leave Nigeria for the younger generation".

Obasanjo, you are frustrated and I know that, you are scared that the little man, from a small village in Bayelsa will leave a legacy that will overshadow your fruitless 8-years in office.
"An Hausa proverb says, "That a woman that have no child, will like the whole world to die at the same time".

"All the corruption allegations against Jonathan's government in the last 11 months are mere fabrication, as they are well orchestrated, by the same people and group".
How can Nigeria lose funds that is bigger than her revenue? It does not add up. You cannot lose what you do not have.

"Obasanjo should leave Jonathan alone, leadership is turn by turn. The rail Obasanjo could not manage, Jonathan has fixed the bulk of it in just few months. The power plants (electricty) Obsanjo abandoned, wasting over $18billion, Jonathan has fixed them and linked them with gas for operations. The roads, airports are getting better, Agriculture is booming again after over 45 years of neglect.

"Obasanjo, Allah is bigger than you. Leave Jonathan alone. You failed in your 8 years, let this man work. - Hope For Nigeria. - See more at: http://eagleyereportconnect.blogspot.com/2013/12/the-presidency-acknowledges-obasanjos.html?showComment=1386873194004#c8639132876208038486

Obasanjo's Letter, Expert Response!
by Ena Ofugara:

My rusty legal brain remembers the words "pecuniary interest" and "nemo judex in causa sua" which estops one from being a judge and also which makes one's words to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Obasanjo it was who began the "G7". He went to Lamido's state and raised Lamido;s hands that he should become the next president.

When the G7 started to foment trouble and make demands that GEJ must not run again, when OBJ himself spent 2 billion trying to fight for 3rd tenure, it was to his house they first went....Lamido et al.

He then tried to be the one to head the peace mission betweeen the G7 and the president.

That very morning EK Clark called him out and told him "how can you try to settle a quarrel you yourself are fanning"

So GEJ turned down the meeting.

Thus OBJ's letter must be seen as a partisan one filled with the motive of removing this president from office.

He is not a non-partisan ex president giving stately advice. NO. HE IS A COUP PLOTTER and this is his version of a CIVILIAN DEMOCRATIC COUP

Now only a fool will assume OBJ's motivation is good governance or corruption.

Of Nigeria's first 50 years in government, OBJ ruled for 11 plus and exerted the most influence as a an ex-military leader, BOT chairman etc.

Now if indeed it was about corruption, and development, how would Nigeria have been in his 11 years plus rule?

I will not mention that he entered office broke and today he is having multi-million dollar farms all over Africa.

Just remember OBJ took billions and billions in loans for NEPA. DID YOU HAVE LIGHT????

OBJ took billions and billions for trains DID YOU ENTER TRAINS IN HIS ERA?

OBJ gave DANGOTE monopoly in rice, cement, Flour, Sugar, which destroyed BCC cement and crushed Benue State Economy and had parents lose their jobs. This turned Dangote to richest black man overnight and bled our economy, destroying our GDP and ruining our balance of trade with all countries we did business with.

Cont"d
GEJ on the other hand has called Dangote aside and sat with him in the presence of Forbes Man of the Year Akinwunmi and Ngozi Okonjo Iwealla and told him Nigeria cannot be importing these things.
Today Dangote and others are producing the very cement we used to import and we have overtaken South Africa in production.
We are growing rice in vast amounts and it is on the increase.
There is movement in domestic sugar production as well
As a result, Nigeria now has the best gross domestic product (GDP) ever in the history of this country and unsung uncelebrated people are employed farming, cutting limestone for cement etc.
WHO IS BLEEDING NIGERIA? The man who made Dangote a vampire sucking our blood or the man who has turned Dangote to an ally in Nation building?

Now refineries. Obasanjo took at least 10 billion for "turn around repairs" of our refineries. . Did the refineries produce any fuel???????????? Is that money not down the drain? WHO IS BLEEDING NIGERIA?

GEJ knew the quagmire that is our refineries. That as long as people made billions from fuel subsidy, they will sabotage it. So he did not take that route.

cont;;;Now understand that like in the sixties where we used to give "oyibo" cocoa and they gave us expensive bournvita, this is what we do with crude oil. We give "oyibo" crude, we buy expensive PMS (petrol) from them. GEJ has asked who can do a private refinery so the money we give "oyibo", we can give it to our compatriot who will employ our people. You that Delta State records show collected a billion....ONE BILLIIIOOOONNNNN to help with farming in Delta State, where are the farms sir?
YOU OBASANJO HAS BLED MY STATE PARTICULARLY.

Only a fool will believe this letter has anything to do with the betterment of Nigeria. Like Mugabe OBASANJO wants power forever. He betrayed his long-time ally Anenih and removed him from BOT Chairmanship of PDP and took it for himself as that is the only position allowed an ex-president

Ena Ofugara said...

contd...Yes OBG, you felt GEJ would be weak and you can be a surrogate president through him. Too bad.....THE CLUELESS SHOELESS GODBLESSED PRESIDENT ALWAYS THROWS CURVED BALLS AT YOU ALL. Is he weak? Is he a dictator? WHICH?????

Ena Ofugara said...

contd...Dangote, the new repented now local producer, no longer a believer in importation that ruins economies has stood up and they have begun the process of having a private refinery.

WHO IS BLEEDING NIGERIA? GEJ that did not waste our money repairing the irreparable, or Obasanjpo that vanished billions and billions down that drain? Remember military regimes of Abdulsalam, Abacha could not stop the sabotage.

The OBASANJO SOLD NNPC. That "oga" sold the refineries for less money than the billions he used to repair it. He sold it to his friend Otedola

We thank God for Yar"Adua and GEJ that canceled the biggest cut to our artery yet.

OBASANJO sold DSC Aladja for less than the land's value that it is on. The amount is laughable. The buyers? Unserious.

OBASANJO sold Nigeria's buildings in the US

Obasanjo sold 1004 to his late wife's family the Abebe's

Obasanjo sold the company that prints our money. That is, Nigeria has no printing press. We go to China to print materials Senate uses...because Obasanjo sold OUR PRINTING PRESS.

He changed money and introduced big bills and yet HE SOLD OUR PRINTING PRESS our MINT company.

Voters cards are imported BECAUSE OBJ SOLD OUR PRINTING PRESS

Who is bleeding Nigeria?

Ena Ofugara said...

contd" OBASANJO made MTN and ECONET and all sell you SIM card....SELL SIM CARDDDDD!!!! for up to 30 thousand SIM CARRRDDDDDDDD,

It is only in Nigeria that has happened in the history of the world....buying SIM CARD so expensively.

OBASANJO MADE THEM STEAL YOUR MINUTES AND MONEY in the fraudulent unheard of "per minute billing" Call gets dropped and u pay for the rest seconds you did not use.
AND OBASANJO DARES TO TALK ABOUT BLEEDING NIGERIA when he time and again cut our veins.

GEJ pays 400 million ....again 400 milllion less than OBJ EVERYYYYYY month for sunsidy payment. OBJ, 400 million less is bandaging the bleeding ulcer you caused.

GEJ uprooted a pension scam of billionsssssssss. Obasanjo, that scam and bleeding was all in your tenure. YOU WERE BLEEDING US

GEJ has unearthed over forty thousand ghost workers who you OBJ was paying....GHOSTSSSSS and thus you OBJ was BLEEDING US DRY paying Ghosts in cemetaries like Living In Bondage or Willi Willi collecting salaries.

OBJ era created the most amount of crude oil thieves and we were at our production lowest and thieving highest during his era. Just that GEJ and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala speak out about their challenges.

Did I mention that the renowned Ngozi questioned him about 2 billion missing and finding its way to National Assembly in the name of third tenure? Do you know he removed this world-acclaimed woman from finance ministry so he can really cart away the money? Do you know world bank immediately promoted her for standing up to theft? Do you know GEJ went and picked a woman that has no respect for a thieving president and will challenge him if he steals? Do you know that woman runs the economy??? The fearless "mama Nigeria" that stops governors who are at their terms end from taking loans ostensibly to "do water for Rivers State" when you will lleave office in just over a year?

The OBJ that wasted 2 billion OF OUR MONEY so he can rule for another four years added to his already 8 year rule pplus a 3 year plus rule in the seventies (70's), that Obasanjo begrudges a man for not saying he will run or not.

Did Obasanjo ever tell us he is going forr 3rd tenure? Did we all not ask him? So why is he bullying GEJ when GEJ has a constitutional right to?

Now Haliburton and Julius berger companies have deposited in legal courts they gave Obasanjo's representatives money and got government contracts. Remember OBJ's first act upon entering office was to pay Julius Berger a backlog of owed moneys (who remembers that far back? Are my people amnesiac?)
That Julius Berger and Haliburton companies have been fined and a few jail sentences handed out. OBJ that dares open his mouth (I am sorry sir if I insult) to talk of corruption was involved through and through.
Enough of the messenger. To the message.

1. Yes GEJ can tell you he will not run a second time and he can change his mind. It is his prerogative. If it was reduced to a contract as you say "pls produce same". Mere opinion expressed does not have the same gravitas as when written down. SHOW US PROOF

2. All the talk of corruption, you did not mention a single company used by GEJ to siphon funds. You did not mention foreign accounts. The only accusation I am reading from your Miriama Ba esque diva rant is 8 trillion naira missing, more than our yearly budget. So money more than our year's budget can miss and Nigeria can go on????

See OBJ, that expanse of land you stole from Ogun people with the Land Use Act, which you call Ota Farms, upon your demise, Ogun people will take it from your children.

You that claimed to be a farmer and whose policy was "Green Revolution" could not even get Nigeria to grow cocoa yam or even hibiscus flower and a GEJ that is bringing back rice and cocoa and groundnut and rubber and trade in leather etc is the one you claim is bleeding us.

You that bullied Ibori to bleed Delta State to the tune of 6 billion just to enthrone Yar"Adua and GEJ whom u expected to be stooges.

Jonathan, student of Obasanjo— FALANA

However, it is pertinent to point out that President Jonathan is a faithful student of the Olusegun Obasanjo School of Politics. While President Jonathan has been accused by General Obasanjo of diverting $7 billion from the Federation Account he (President Obasanjo) is yet to account for the over $20 billion which he diverted from the same account.

In the aforesaid 18-page letter President Obasanjo did not challenge the neo-colonial economic agenda of the Jonathan administration, which has continued to pauperise the masses. Hence the letter is silent on the crises of unemployment, illiteracy, ignorance, hunger, infrastructural
