2015: Middle Belt Will Support Jonathan – Gana

Prof Jerry Gana

Former Minister for Information and an elder statesman,  Prof Jerry Gana, has said that the middle belt who voted massively for President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011 would still support him overwhelmingly if he decides to contest the 2015 Presidential polls.
Gana stated this yesterday in Jos, the Plateau State capital in a chat with journalists  at a  sensitisation workshop on minority interest rights for various ethnic groups  from 15 states of Northern Nigeria organised by a non-governmental organisation (NGO), Stefanos Foundation.
He also called on the people of the Middle belt to support the proposed National Dialogue.
He said the zone welcomed the initiative of the national dialogue and would contribute to its success.
He added that,” We in the middle belt would continue to support the corporate existence of Nigeria with the Headquarters in Abuja”.
According to the former information minister, every ethnic nationality should be represented at the conference to ensure equity, social justice and self-determination.
He urged Nigerians to also continue to support democracy in the country adding that democracy in the country is working.
