"But Konye was almost obsessively jealous of the victim's good looks and, after a previous argument between them, hatched an almost unbelievable plan to attack her with acid.
"The victim's life has been changed forever - she will always bear the scars of what happened - but she has been incredibly brave and I am pleased she has seen justice done today."
During the trial, the court heard how Konye followed Oni on public transport as the victim made her way home after finishing her shift at a Victoria's Secret store in Stratford, east London.
Konye, wearing a niqab, threw a glass of acid across Oni's face after she had got off a bus in Lodge Avenue, Dagenham.
Oni, a student, had to undergo a number of skin grafts and has been left with severe scarring and marks from the premeditated attack.
Konye will be sentenced on March 7.
