Wikipedia: Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu was born on 29 March 1952 in the city of Lagos. He attended St. John's Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos and Children's Home School in Ibadan. Tinubu went to the United States in 1975, where he studied first at Richard J. Daley College in Chicago, Illinois and then at Chicago State University. He graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.[1]
Tinubu worked for American companies Arthur Andersen, Deloitte, Haskins, & Sells, and GTE Services Corporation.[2] After returning to Nigeria in 1983 Bola Tunubu obtained work with Mobil Oil Nigeria, becoming an executive of the company.[3]
It will be recalled that the late human rights lawyer, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, prosecuted Tinubu over certificate forgery during his first tenure as governor between 1999 and 2003.
False Claims: A 15-paragraph verifying affidavit, the Applicant deposed that Tinubu claimed to have attended St. Paul’s School, Aroloya, Lagos, which school never existed.
He also averred that Tinubu allegedly claimed to have attended Government College, Ibadan between 1965 and 1968, a claim which the authorities and Old Boys Association of Government College, Ibadan debunked as false.
Other areas of complaint by the applicant included the alleged claim of Tinubu in the INEC form, that he attended Richard Daley College, Chicago, between 1969 and 1971, which he also alleged was false.
Adegbola also averred that the claim of Tinubu that he attended the the University of Chicago in the U.S. between 1972 and 1976 and obtained a B.Sc degree in Economics from the same University, was misleading. (NAN)
Jan 7th 2014 ; Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that the former governor of Lagos
State,Asiwaju Bola Tinubu forged his certificate the same way the impeached former
speaker of the House of Representatives, Salisu Buhari did.
Obasanjo said this today at the 4th Annual Ibadan Sustainable Development Summit
organised by the Centre for Sustainable Development, University of Ibadan, in
conjunction with the African Sustainable Development Network.
He said, ” Salisu Buhari; you can still recall what happened to him. You said Bola Tinubu
is your master. What Buhari did was not anything worse than what Bola Tinubu did”.
He alleged that the younger generation of leaders had abysmally failed Nigerians with
their lack of integrity and probity.
According to the former president , the younger generation of leaders that had failed the
nation as include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former governor of
Delta State James Ibori, former governor of Edo State Lucky Igbinedion and former
Bayelsa State Governor Deprieye Alamieyeseigha.
“We had some people who were under 50years in leadership positions. One of them was
James Ibori, where is he today? One of them was Alamieyeseigha, where is he today?
Lucky Igbinedion, where is he today?
“We got them(Salisu and Alamieyesigha) impeached. But in this part of the world some
people covered up the other man. The man claimed he went to Government College,
Ibadan but the governor (Oyo State) went to Government College and packed all the
documents so that they would not know that he did not go there. I wanted someone who
would succeed me; so I took Atiku. Within a year, I started seeing the type of man Atiku
is. And you want me to get him there?”, he said.
Obasanjo also averred that leadership problem plaguing Nigeria was an indication that
the nation may have been jinxed and cursed.
According to him, “if Nigerians are yet to commend a leader after 53 years of
independence, then we are jinxed and cursed; we should all go to hell.”
“Abacha, my predecessor got $750m. Through our lawyer in Switzerland we recovered
$1.25bn and the lawyer still said there is probably still another $1bn to be recovered [The
figures didn't add up but that was what the former President said]. In 1979 we had 20 new
ships specially built for Nigeria. When I came back 20 years after, the national shipping
line had liquidated.
“The whole thing is not just about leadership. If we talk about good leadership you
should also talk about good followers. If you talk about human right you should also talk
about human duties and obligations.
“It is sad that after 53 years of independence we have no leader that we can commend.
The problem in Africa is that when one person takes over he would not see any good
thing that his predecessor did. Let us condemn but with caution”.

Quite some revelation which Nigerians need to savour and digest. The fact that over the years we are yet to 'rub shoulders' with modernity is very disappointing. It is a retrogression on a large scale. The plethora of accusations, allegations and blame-worthiness only portray the nation as a failed state. I am beginning to wonder if there is any other nation on this planet where dearth of decency, integrity, probity and fear of God is so prevalent. We tend to stagnate where we should keep moving and stall when the wheels should be in rotation. Revent (and past) news information only compounds our inability to idealise and actualise: idealise by sampling (at the least) the progressive approaches to democracy and its derivatives, and actualise by not living on just words but action. These characteristics belong to undeveloped societies - which place us among the most debase entities on earth. Sad, but true, that we do not see any form of concern or critique as a learning point but rather we personalise issues of national concerns to recall personal shortcomings and indiscretions. So when are we going to move forward. Seems Never.
Olubunmi Ahmadou.
Thank God you said issues of national concern. An uneducated person can't rule Nigeria
That's an issue of national concern. He has no agenda. Nothing at all to Offer Nigeria except to return oil money and federal purse to the south.
