IN THE MONEY: Matthew Ashimolowo
A NIGERIAN pastor who founded a ministry in east London has been named as one of Africa's richest clergymen.
Matthew Ashimolowo, the lead pastor at Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in the borough of Hackney, has been acknowledged by Forbes having some of the most valuable assets in Africa for a churchman.
He established KICC in Hackney in 1992, and according to estimates has a net worth of between $6m (£3.64m) and $10m (£6.07m).
Others on the list include Bishop David Oyedepo and Chris Oyakuleme.
Oyedepo who heads Winners Chapel is Nigeria’s wealthiest preacher.
Oyedepo, whose estimated net worth is $150m (£91m) founded and owns Covenant University, one of Nigeria’s most prestigious tertiary institutions, and Faith Academy, an aristocratic top school.
