Former Boko Haram Tells FG To Use Force Or Beg Insurgents To Free Chibok Girls

A former negotiator between the Boko Haram sect and the Federal Government, Shehu Sani, has called on Nigerian leaders to either negotiate with the kidnappers of the Chibok girls or use force to rescue them.

According to him, the FG may have to embrace the condition of swapping their imprisoned members for the girls or fight back to free the innocent children. He said the latter option may put the kidnapped girls in great risk, hence the need to negotiate with the group.

“There are two ways to which you can get these girls free,” Sani told CNN’s “Connect the World” show.

“The first is to use force, and the second is through dialogue. The use of force is not an option for now in the sense that nobody knows where these girls were kept.

“And even if you know, these girls have been embedded in with the insurgents who are heavily armed. And any attempt to rescue them will be putting their lives in further danger,” he added.
