A bomb that ripped through a World Cup viewing centre in Nigeria last night killed at least seven football fans and injured dozens, according to early reports.
Boko Haram, the Islamic militant group that has been wreaking terror on northern Nigeria for several years, has been blamed for the explosion in the northern town of Damaturu. The group is ideologically opposed to football.
Fans had gathered to watch the Mexico game against Brazil at the Crossfire venue, in the Nayinawa area of the state capital of Yobe, at 8pm. Witnesses said that the blast was triggered just after kick-off by
