Despite the controversy surrounding her exit from office, encomiums poured in torrents on the immediate past minister of aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, for her numerous contributions to the nation’s aviation industry at a civic reception recently organized in her honour at her country home, Akili Ozizor, Ogbaru, Anambra state.
Many of the speakers who spoke at the event commended her for the radical changes she introduced into the aviation sector, especially the upgrading of airports across the country.
In a speech, the President’s Special Adviser on Inter-Party Affairs, Sen. Ben Obi who represented President Goodluck Jonathan, described Princess Oduah as a woman so much loved by her people and predicted that the sky would be her limit in the political affairs of Nigeria.
A PDP stalwart and leader of the Party in Onitsha South Local Government, Chief Sabest Uzoeto, lamented how Nigerians treat their heroes and heroines with disdain because of individual selfish interests.
He declared that Oduah would be a reliable candidate of the party for Anambra North Senatorial election come 2015.
The councilor representing Odoakpu ward 5, Onitsha South Local Government Area, Hon. Obiajulu Odiamma, added his voice, stressing the need for people to close ranks towards working for Oduah’s success in next year’s election. He dismissed the allegation leveled against her while in office as “selfish and baseless.
