Protesters force Sanusi to remain in Government House to operate under Kwannkwaso's protection
Two days after Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso imposed former CBN governor, Lamido Sanusi as Emir of Kano, protesters have continued to bar the Emir from entering the palace to assume duties.
The Emir under the protection of the governor in the Government House, Kano is receiving guests who are paying him homage.
The appointment of the new Emir was announced by the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Rabiu Suleiman Bichi last Sunday and was subsequently issued appointment letter and staff of office by Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso the following day.
Alhaji Sanusi, the 14th Fulani emir, and the 57th Emir of Kano, resumed traditional functions at the Government House, holding court and receiving guests and well wishers in the fortified seat of Government.
Air Force helicopters were seen hovering the skyline of Kano metropolis, while Armoured Personnel Carriers were stationed in strategic locations.
Meanwhile, normalcy has returned to the streets of Kano after two days of violent protests greeted the announcement of Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as emir.
The city came alive shortly after an early morning rain that lasted two hours.
Schools were re-opened to students; business activities commenced in all the major markets in the city, as motorists and commuters moved freely in the city without molestation.
Police had on Monday successfully dislodged protesters in front of the Emir’s palace located along Emir Palace Road.

Several northern leaders including the Sultan of Sokoto, former military President Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalam Abubakar are working with other leaders to convince supporters of the late Emir's son to accept the action of the governor in the interest of the state.
They are said to have chided Kwankwaso for subverting the will of the people because of pressures from Bola Tinubu, Chibuike Amaechi, Rochas Okorocha and Danjuma Goje who are APC leaders, but from other areas.

ALERT ON KANO:
Tomorrow is Friday. We have credible information that Jonathanians in Kano and their agents have received huge sums of money to get youths to protest massively and cause mayhem after the Juma'at prayers.
The Jonathanians hope the protests will lead to violence, destruction and loss of lives, while the federal security agencies watch helplessly, thus giving President Jonathan the excuse to declare a state of emergency in Kano State, remove Governor Kwankwaso and depose Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
This plan will fail. By God's Grace, tomorrow's Juma'at prayers in Kano will be uneventful except for special prayers for the repose of Late Emir Ado Bayero.
Whoever sold this evil plan to the Jonathanians should know that those who fight the will of God will end in ignominious perdition.
Those wish for violence, plan it against innocent people, or use the offspring of the poor, needy and illiterate by putting them recklessly in harm's way will face the wrath of Almighty God.
I join others in appealing to Governor Kwankawaso and the citizens of Kano to maintain the peace and good order that exists in Kano, and exercise restraint in the face of blood-thirsty Jonathanian provocation.
We shall overcome these Jonathanian challenges and Kano and indeed the whole of Nigeria will prosper. The enemies of our nation and people that pretend to be leaders during the day, while planning the murder of citizens at night, will reap what they are sowing, by God's Grace.

The Nigerian Police Force has declared the newly coronated Emir of Kano,HRH Sanusi Lamido Sanusi wanted.
This new order is to arrest the newly-crowned Emir of Kano, on fraud-related charges stemming from his tenure as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Reliable sources at the Presidency in Abuja, have it that a detachment of the Nigerian Police,now at the Emir’s palace in Kano has received the order from the Nigeria Police Headquarters to place 'Mr. Sanusi' under arrest once he is sighted around the palace.
Or leaves the Kano Governor’s lodge,where he's holed up,at the present moment.
In actual fact,the new Emir of Kano was to be arrested at his private home on Sunday night ,shortly after his appointment was announced by the Kano State Governor,but he was quickly bundled out of arm's way.
New Emir Of Kano Violates 1000-Year-Old Tradition
The new Emir of Kano, Mallam Lamido Sanusi has violated a 1000 year old tradition of operating from a room at the Kano State Government House.
According to Tradition, the mewly appointed Emir is to move immediately into the Palace.
However, the Emir has been unable to move into the Emir’s palace due to protests and unrest in the ancient city of Kano since he was appointed Emir. There has been heavy police presence in and around the Palace since the new Emir was announced.
Sanusi Lamido since his coronation has been receiving guests and well wishers which include Nasir El-Rufai, Alhaji Aliko Dangote; Governors Adams Oshiomole and Rochas Okorocha; and the Kano kingmakers at the Government House
Former Military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd) has stated that the Federal Government has no role to play in the appointment of Emir of Kano even as he said that it was the responsibility of the state government to appoint the Emir.
IBB, who congratulated the new Emir of Kano, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi yesterday in an interview in his uphill residence in Minna, however, stated that the alleged involvement of the federal government in the siege on the Emir’s Palace remained an allegation to him.
He, however, declared when asked about the alleged role being played by the federal government that, “I am glad you used that word alleged, as an elder statesman, I don’t work on allegation. Fortunately, I have ask them both the federal and state government to know exactly what is happening”.
According to IBB, “I think everybody has a particular function. I don’t believe the federal government has a role to play in the appointment of the Emir or something as long as the due process is followed by the state government. We have no option than to accept the outcome of the process. I appeal to the people in the name of this country to give peace a chance. Everything cannot be settled if peace did not reign”.
On the protest against the appointment of Lamido he said, “for someone like me I think it is a normal tradition. We found this happening in quite a number of places; there was a case like that before back in the 60s. I think what is most important is that we need to realise that whatever you don’t get in the peace time you can’t get it when there is no peace. God made him the Emir and so I don’t see why people cannot come together and support who is the Emir in the interest of the state and for the interest of this country”.
“Well, I also want to congratulate the new Emir who happens to be from the same family with the former Emir; they are all children of Malam Ibrahim Dabo so I want to congratulate the present one and to pray that he should live up to the expectation of the majority of the people”.
He stated that his prayer for the new Emir of Kano is for God to grant him the wisdom and knowledge to perform or even supersede his grandfather and his late uncle Alhaji Ado Bayero who he described as a distinguished Emir.
