Just days after hate-crime charges were dropped against the man accused of assaulting fame-seeking V. Stiviano while yelling racial slurs, the New York Police Department has enlisted the public's help in gathering new information about the alleged assault.
The renewed effort to acquire new leads in the case comes a week after NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton was quoted as saying 'we would have hoped that she would stay on the West Coast,' noting that at that time she was yet to make a police report of the alleged assault, but had already told her story to the media.
Now, however, the NYPD is peppering the the city with flyers asking for witnesses to come forward with information about the alleged assault.

Dominick Diorio, the 40-year-old man accused of attacking V.Stiviano in the alleged racist assault, has denied the charges.
Diorio made a brief court appearance last week and was released without bail.
He went on to accuse Stiviano of inventing the attack in order to gain publicity or to 'keep her name in the spotlight'.
'Simply put, a credible victim of a crime does not have her attorney call the press before she calls the police,' said Diorio's attorney, David Scott Smith.
'Miss Stiviano seems intent on keeping her name in the spotlight. But I can assure you if this case goes to trial, my cross-examination will last longer than her 15 minutes of fame.'

According to Stiviano, Diorio and his friend spat at her before screaming racial obscenities at her.

Because Stiviano and her lawyer Mac Nehoray had not filed a police report on Sunday, officers had not been investigating the fight.
But on Monday Stiviano filed a complaint with the NYPD and on the same day Diorio turned himself into police.
He was identified in surveillance footage by police and then put in a lineup and picked out by Stiviano on Tuesday.
Diroio currently lives with his parents and his father told The New York Post of his shock.
'Wow, I'am not going to tell my wife about this. That'll just upset her. I don't know what to do.'

Even though she is wearing make-up in one of the photographs, the effects of the alleged attack appear to be visible.
Diorio, of Old Bethpage, Long Island, appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court for his arraignment.
He was initially changed with assault and a hate crime but these charges were reduced to assault in the hearing.
Diorio's attorney, David Scott Smith, told The New York Post that he is pleased the hate crime charges have been dropped.
'I’d like to commend the District Attorney’s Office for deciding not to prosecute my client for a hate crime and to consent to his release without bail,' said Smith.
'I’m confident that as this case goes forward and the investigation continues, that Miss Stiviano’s allegations will likewise begin to fail and at the end of the day, the assault charge will be dismissed as well.'
Diorio, who was reportedly celebrating his 40th birthday before the alleged run-in with Stiviano, appeared to have a small amount of bruising on his face.
He allegedly told investigators he just 'slipped and fell' after a woman threw a phone at him.
However, Stiviano offers an alternative explanation for his injuries.
She claims he and another man allegedly hurled racist abuse at her during a random attack on Sunday evening.
She claims their slurs included the N-word.

In the image exclusively obtained by InTouch, Stiviano jokingly holds a knife up to Sterling's throat while dining out at a Los Angeles steak house a year ago - a symbolic omen of the backstabbing to come.
'It was typical V., being crazy,' Rachel Rodriguez, a former friend of the couple, told the magazine.

Stiviano went on to get Sterling banned from the NBA, when she recorded Sterling's racial slurs during private conversations.
This latest photo was released just a day after Sterling told a reporter he's 'feeling fabulous' after losing ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers.
The 80-year-old real estate mogul attended a charity event for the homeless in Los Angeles Tuesday night were he was cornered by a reporter for NBC 4 who asked him how he's dealing with the loss.
'I feel fabulous, I feel very good,' Sterling said. 'Everything is just the way it should be really. It may have worked out differently, but it's good. It's all good.'
'I'm OK, I'm OK,' Sterling added. 'Is the NBA OK? I'm not sure about that. Is (NBA Commissioner) Adam Silver OK? I'm sure he's OK.'
Sterling said he's ready to 'move on' from the scandal.

The NBA's Board of Governors was prepared to force Sterling to sell his team after tapes were leaked in which he told his girlfriend V.Stiviano not to bring black people to his games.
But that vote was called off by the NBA on Friday, after he transferred ownership to estranged wife Shelly Sterling.
Last week, Shelly sold the team to ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for a record $2billion.
Shelly Sterling also dined out Tuesday night, and was photographed outside celebrity hotspot Craig's Steakhouse in West Hollywood.

She is currently in the process of finalizing the sale to Ballmer. The Board of Governors will need to vote to approve the sale to finalize it.
The vote was called off the same day Sterling's attorneys filed a lawsuit against the NBA and Silver, asking for damages over $1billion.
It's still uncertain whether he plans to continue with the suit.

Video of V. Stiviano Mocking Black People Emerges. They Do Stupid Sh** Like Buy Rims (Video)
- Donald Sterling's former gal pal was beaten up outside the Gansevoort Hotel in Manhattan Sunday evening
- Stiviano, who recorded the conversation that cost Sterling the LA Clippers, was taken to a hospital after running from her attackers
- 'One side of her face is extremely red and she is obviously very scared,' revealed the 31-year-old's attorney
V. Stiviano was attacked outside a Manhattan hotel Sunday by two men who struck her in the face while shouting racial slurs, according to the 31-year-old's attorney.
The woman who recorded the remarks that cost Donald Sterling the LA Clippers was taken to a hospital to be examined for possible injuries after fleeing from the 'n-word' screaming men around 7pm.
Stiviano was leaving the Gansevoort Hotel when 'two white men descended on her' her attorney Mac Nehorary told RadarOnline.
Attacked: Donald Sterling's alleged mistress V. Stiviano, seen here on her way to New York City from LAX on Saturday, was attacked by two unidentified white men screaming the 'n-word' Sunday evening outside Manhattan's Gansevoort Hotel
The attack occurred around 7pm. Stiviano was in New York City ahead of an appearance on Anderson Cooper 360 slated for Monday
'They knew exactly who she was. They began to hit her and called her the N word,' Nehorary said. 'Other disgusting slurs were made against her. She was able to run away and several onlookers then began attempting to apprehend the two men.'
The shaken model face was left 'extremely red and she is obviously very scared.'
While Stiviano did not immediately file a police report, her attorney said she most likely would, but that 'her immediate reaction was to run away from the attackers and get to safety.'
Stiviano, who was allegedly once the 80-year-old billionaire's mistress, was in New York City for an Anderson Cooper 360 appearance slated for Monday.
The attack appeared to be the shocking culmination of weeks of threats Stiviano has reportedly received since the controversy first began.
'They knew exactly who she was. They began to hit her and called her the N word,' attorney Mac Nehorary said. 'Other disgusting slurs were made against her. She was able to run away and several onlookers then began attempting to apprehend the two men.'
'V started getting death threats almost immediately after Sterling’s racist rants — which she recorded — were made public,' an unidentified source told Radar.
The shocking attack was only the latest in a series of race-fueled revelations that have surrounded Stiviano in recent weeks.
This past week, a video surfaced that shows her making racially charged remarks about people of color.
The 2011 video, which has been obtained by TMZ Sports, was allegedly made by Stiviano for a reality show pilot about gold diggers.
'I don't understand black people.' the mixed-race Stiviano says into the camera. 'The minute you give them a little bit of money, they don't known what to do with it.'
In the video of Stiviano, the model mocks African-Americans for their supposed tendency to waste their money on trivial things.
The shocking attack was only the latest in a series of race-fueled revelations that have surrounded Stiviano in recent weeks. Last week, video emerged from 2011 of the mixed race 31-year-old making what appeared to be racist comments of her
'They're like, “Yo, I wanna put extra rims on top of my rims. And my rims are gonna turn around. I'm gonna call them spinners,"' she says.
She continues her rant, adding: 'They do stupid s*** like that, when there's people starving around the world. That's what people want to do with their money?’
Another snippet from the video shows Stiviano in a passenger seat of a car calling herself a 'hood rat' and saying that she is looking for someone to pick her up.
A disturbing third clip starring Stiviano made for the failed TV show depicts the model talking to an Elmo puppet, which she then uses to simulate oral sex on a female friend sitting in the driver’s seat.
'We don't like black people,' she tells the plush red doll in her hands.
As a result of the scandal sparked by V. Stiviano’s audio recording of her billionaire boyfriend, Sterling has been banned for life from the NBA and ordered to pay a $2.5million fine.
The 80-year-old married father of three was diagnosed last week with Alzheimer’s, allowing his wife to sell the Clippers to a former Microsoft executive for $2billion. The deal has yet to be finalized as it requires Sterling’s approval.

hate is real for V. Stiviano, the woman made famous by the racist Donald Sterling recordings.
Stiviano was apparently shooting a reality show pilot back in 2011 about gold diggers. Stiviano who is African-American and Mexican, was one of the four girls chosen and the clip features her rambling on about finding a rich man and how black people should be giving back to the less fortunate instead of buying spinning rims.
Here are some nuggets of wisdom she shares:
“I don’t understand black people. You give them a little bit of money, they don’t know what to do with it.”
“[Black people] just act crazy … they’re like, ‘Yo, I wanna put extra rims on top of my rims. And my rims are gonna turn around. I’m gonna call them spinners.’”
Now we see why Stiviano and Sterling were so close. She surely was defending being seen with blacks and their spinning rims to her boo Sterling’s Amistad attitudes just a few months ago. The sad part is I’m willing to bet some network will give this gal a reality show by 2015. Check out the clip below:
