A woman called Mrs. Roseline Uzoamaka who lives in Gwarimpa, Abuja has been arrested by the Dutsen Alhaji Police Division.
She was arrested because she allegedly forced a teenage girl who lives with her, last Saturday, August 23, to sit on a burning electric cooker until the girl sustained severe burns in her private parts as a punishment for urinating on the bed.
Mrs. Uzoamaka told PUNCH correspondent that the assault on her 14-year-old sister-in-law simply identified as Sarah started when she scolded the girl for continuously bedwetting, and asked her to sit on the burning stove until her genitals were cooked by the heat.
Uzoamaka confessed in her statement to the police that she did this because some friends had advised her that the way to make her husband's younger sister recover from the problem, was to make her sit on a hot stove.
After Sarah’s privates were affected by the heat, she was said to have been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment the same day.
Sarah is still recuperating in the hospital, while the case has been transferred from the division to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
