Secret Intelligence Report Links Ali Modu Sheriff, Chad President To Boko Haram Sponsorship

As accusations and counter accusations over the sponsorship of the Boko Haram sect continues to unfold, Premium times said it has obtained intelligence insights on newacts showing stronger links between former governor of Borno state, Ali Modu Sheriff, and the Boko Haram sect.
The emerging facts according to the report support claims that the former Borno governor is a major financier of the terrorist sect.
Australian negotiator, Dr Stephen Davis had few weeks ago accused Sheriff and a former Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen, Azubuike Ihejirika of sponsoring the Boko Haram sect.
Both personae denied the allegation with Sheriff even threatening to sue Davis.Surprisingly, the Nigerian government claims it is investigating Sheriff, just as the Department of State Security Service (DSS), exonerated the former Army chief, but the recent visit of President Jonathan to Chad for a meeting with the Chadian president, Idris Derby where Sheriff was present heightened suspicions of his involvement in Boko Harm.
But while the furore generated over that visit to Derby with Sheriff in attendance is yet to die down, this new revelation by Premium Times raises the bar once again.
According to Premium Times, the new facts from the secret intelligence report linking Sheriff and the President of Chad with Boko Haram was obtained in Maiduguri, Damaturu, and Abuja.
It showed dated communications between field officers and the velvet ranks of Nigeria’s military chronicling Mr. Sheriff’s involvement in promoting the growth of the sect.
