. As Mark's Constituency Record low turn out
By Ter Tor-Bisibi, Makurdi
Even as the official results of the yesterday's Presidential and National Assembly elections are yet to be announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ), Feelers from Benue state indicate that the Senate president, Senator David Mark, Former Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ), National Chairman, Sen. Barnabas Gemade and Senate Minority Leader, Sen. George Akume are obviously leading.
According to reports from our correspondent who monitored the conduct in the state, even as election materials failed to arrive most polling centres on time causing a delay in voting, elections were conducted peacefully save for violence in certain polling units in High Level, Makurdi where thugs alleged to be working for PDP moved in buses destroying result sheets and ballot papers before counting could commence.
Also, pockets of violence were registered in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue North-East Senatorial District, where armed thugs shot sporadically and also carted away polling materials immediately after accreditation of voters.
Meanwhile although there was no violence in Senate President, David Mark's Benue South Senatorial district, there recorded low voter turn out in all polling units even as he was observed to be recording victory.
