SEATTLE — A 28-year-old woman has been sentenced to jail after pleading guilty to breaking into a man’s apartment and raping him in his sleep.
The Smoking Gun reported that Chantae Marie Gilman will serve nine months in jail after pleading guilty earlier this week.
The crime happened in June of 2013 inside the victim’s Seattle apartment. Gilman has admitted to having sex with the man as he slept.
Gilman reportedly climbed into the 31-year-old man’s bed and had intercourse with him while he slept. The victim said he woke up to find her on top of him.
The victim eventually pushed her off and kicked her out of his apartment. The victim said he did not know the suspect, but recognized her as a “drug user in the area.”
Gilman will have to register as a sex offender. She was originally charged with rape, but it was reduced to attempted rape and assault, both felonies.
