President Muhammadu Buhari will tomorrow depart Nigeria for South Africa to attend the 25th African Union where he is expected to chair the meeting of the Peace and Security Committee of the AU summit.
A statement by Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, said President Buhari will also be holding a number of bilateral meetings that will consolidate his ongoing drive to secure Nigeria and the neighboring countries from Boko Haram.
The meeting will be the first continental meeting by Buhari since he took over after defeating Goodluck Jonathan in the March Presidential Election.
President Jonathan had met with the Presidents of Chad and Niger barely one week after assuming office as president to express his appreciation for the countries’ support in the fight against terrorism.
