Chief Cletus Ojukwu, Kidnapped, suspects demand N50m ransom for his freedom.

Kidnappers of a popular Minna, Niger State-based hotelier and Director of Phoenix Hotel Limited, Chief Cletus Ojukwu, who whisked him away from his hotel located in the heart of Minna, the Niger State capital, have placed a N50 million ransom for his release.
The armed men, six in number, stormed the house of their victim, located directly behind the hotel in Tunga area, at about 8:30pm on Monday and held everyone in the house hostage before he was taken away to an unknown destination.
A family source, Donatus Ojukwu, who witnessed how their bread winner was taken away, told our correspondent that the kidnappers wanted to go away with the man and his wife but the vehicle did not contain them.
It could be recalled that an uncle to the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in the state, Hon. Umaru Nasko, was kidnapped from his residence in Nasko, Magama Local Government Area of the state, but was later rescued in Kebbi State.
This brings to two the number of kidnap cases so far recorded in the state in the last three months.
Meanwhile the kidnappers of Ojukwu have placed a N50 million ransom for his release.
They are in touch with the family.
When contacted the Public Relations Officer of the Niger State Police Command, ASP Bala Elkana, confirmed the kidnap of the Anambra State born businessman.
Elkana said the police is on top of the situation.
He disclosed that the police is doing everything possible to ensure that he is rescued alive, saying that the family of the victim is in touch with the kidnappers.
