FG Orders Immediate Withdrawal of Diplomatic Passports From Former Governors, Ministers and Legislators

This latest directive was contained in a statement signed Monday by the new Comptroller-General of Immigration (CGI), Martins Abeshi.

Abeshi stated that “further to the directive on the withdrawal of diplomatic and official passports held by unauthorised persons the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) hereby directs all affected persons to comply forthwith”.

He listed the affected persons to include, among others, former state Governors, Senators, Member House of Representatives, and Members of State Houses of Assemblies.
Others are: former Ministers, Commissioners, Special Advisers/Special Assistants, Chairmen/Deputy Chairmen of Local Government Areas (LGAs), all retired Heads of Parastatals and retired public servants.
