US Govt Adds 3 Nigerians to Specially Designated Global Terrorist List
Aftermath of yesterdays calling off Nigeria's bluff and adding BOKO HARAM to Global terrorist list , the United States has today Thursday June 21st 2012 , designated three key leaders of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, as "Specially Designated Global Terrorists". The three individuals the US official tells us are Abubakar Shekau, aged about 43, described as a Boko Haram leader who allegedly aligned himself with al Qaeda in a video message and has been seen severally on You tube videos; Abubakar Adam Kambar, aged about 35; and Khalid Al Barnawi, aged close to 36. All three are native Nigerians.
This latest move is in a bid to diminish the capacity of the Nigeria- based radical Islamic militant group to continue to launch terror attacks that have killed over 1,000 people in less than two years.
The expected action will in turn have multiple effect with people associating and sympathizing with terror group. They US government will freeze any assets they may have in the United States, and bar U.S. persons from any transactions with them as well as withdrawing their visas , if they currently have one.
