Uche Archibong a 23-year-old commercial sex worker was sentenced to a three-week jail term for biting man tongue off

It was a dramatic scene at the Magistrates’ Court in Abuja on Wednesday, when Uche Archibong a 23-year-old commercial sex worker was sentenced to a three-week jail term for biting her client’s tongue off.

She was, however, given an option of a N1,000 fine.

The magistrate, Mrs. Jecinta Okeke, also ordered Archibong of Jabi Village, to pay N30,000 to the complainant for the amount spent in the hospital to put back his tongue.

The prosecutor, Inspector Clement Egwu, had told the court that one Mr. Ephraim Okoronkwo reported the case of grievous bodily harm to the police on July 9, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

He said that the complainant and the accused had a misunderstanding after he had picked her from town to his abode on the day of the incident.

Egwu said the accused jumped on the complainant in the midst of the argument and bit off his tongue.

The prosecutor said that the bite caused Okoronkwo serious injury, resulting in his admission to the Gwarimpa Hospital, where he is still receiving treatment.

The convict, however, told NAN that the complainant breached the agreement reached between them for sex.

She said that he paid for sex only, but in the act, he went beyond the terms of the agreement.
“I decided to bite his tongue in self-defence and in the process of struggling, his tongue was chopped off completely,” she said.
