YOUNG VICTIM: Shereka Marsh was named by friends as the teenager who was shot dead in Hackney on Saturday afternoon (March 22)
A 15-year-old schoolgirl who was shot dead at a house in Hackney yesterday afternoon has been named by friends as Shereka Marsh.
Police were called to reports of a shooting at a residential address in Eastway, Hackney Wick, shortly before 4pm.
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) and London's Air Ambulance attended but the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three boys, all aged under 18, were arrested nearby and taken to an east London police station where they remain in custody.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "Detectives from the Homicide & Major Crime Command are investigating.
"No charges have been brought yet. Enquiries continue to establish the circumstances of the incident, and a post-mortem will be held in due course."
