"PDP has 11 months to go –El-Rufai" -

Former Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Deputy National Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Malam Nasir El-Rufai has said that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has 11 months notice to quit public offices across the federation.

El-Rufai said APC was a government in waiting, stressing that, “even people in power now know that they have 11 months notice to pack their bags, because we are taking over.”

He made the statement in Kaduna yesterday at the state APC stakeholders’ meeting in preparation for the party’s forthcoming congresses.

There has been speculation that the former FCT minister is eyeing the governorship of Kaduna State, but he described the rumour as premature, adding that at the appropriate time, party members in the state would elect their candidates for the respective offices.

According to him, “my priority as the deputy national secretary is to ensure that APC is a very strong party in Kaduna State and other parts of the country. And the question of contesting for office will be determined by the party at appropriate time.”

Also speaking on the occasion, Senator Sani Saleh, who is an APC Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone said there was no crisis in the Kaduna State APC as speculated, explaining that, the little challenges the party had that bordered on implementation of national guidelines had been resolved.
