DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. —
Two victims tearfully testified a police officer on trial asked them to do sexually inappropriate acts in exchange for not taking them to jail.
It happened during the trial of former DeKalb County police officer Jeremy Reynolds.  He faces a count of aggravated sodomy and two counts of violation of oath by a public officer.
"That's when he said, 'Let me see your (breasts) and I'll let you go," Yvonne Ruiz said on the witness stand.
Ruiz testified that's what Reynolds told her during a traffic stop in 2010. Ruiz said Reynolds asked to see her breasts in exchange for not taking her to jail because of a warrant for a probation violation. His request surprised her.
"I'm like, 'I guess in shock because he's a police officer. He's not supposed to do that,'" she said, fighting back tears. She didn’t do what he asked and was taken to jail.
Prosecutors said Reynolds violated his oath with Ruiz and with a 39-year-old woman in 2009.
That victim said Reynolds forced her to engage in a sex act instead of going to jail on a marijuana charge. The victim, whose identification is being withheld, said she was terrified.
"I was very scared because I didn't know if I would come out with my life or not," she said. She said she did what Reynolds asked her to do and wasn’t taken to jail.
Defense attorney Jackie Patterson said the sex was consensual with the 39-year-old woman. He said Ruiz made up the story about Reynolds asking her to expose herself.
"She said 'I'm gonna tell them that you asked to see my breast in order to let you go," he said.
After that, the judge threatened to throw Patterson in jail after she said he kept bringing up testimony she ruled wasn't admissible. "If you can't abide by this court's order then there will be consequences for that. Is that clear?" Judge Courtney Johnson asked.  "Yes, your honor," Patterson replied.
Reynolds was fired. He has pleaded not guilty.
His attorney say he will take the stand and tell his side of the story; that's expected to happen Wednesday.
