Standing next to his wife, who still had bruises on her face from the attack, Zachary said: 'We forgive our sons and we love them unconditionally.
'We had to make sure they understand that.'
Friday was the first time the Ervins had been at a hearing for the brothers, WSB-TV reported.
'Those were not our boys that did that to us,' Yvonne said.
'We did not raise our boys that way.
'We understand there are consequences for what they did, they understand that, but we're just praying that the world forgives them the same way that we forgive them.'
A search warrant released earlier in the week revealed one of the brothers had fantasized about murdering his parents and collecting the insurance money ever since he was 11.
Police did not indicate whether it was Christopher or Cameron.
The couple declined to discuss the motive for the attack and instead spread a positive message.
Yvonne said: 'God has done miraculous healing with us.
'We're doing great. We're healing both mentally and physically.'

While Zachary distracted them during the September attack, Yvonne called 911 and told a dispatcher that her sons were trying to kill her.
She said they had drugged her and her husband by putting Xanax in their drinks before the attack.
When officers arrived, they found a bloody scene inside the family's home.
Zachary emerged from the garage covered in blood, Gwinnett County police said.
The brothers had also turned on the gas to the fireplace and lit a candle in a failed attempt to blow up the house, Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter has said.
The parents told police their sons also tried to strangle them, and Yvonne said that what she believed was a flammable liquid had been poured on her, WXIA reported.
The brothers are being held without bail.

'Please send someone to my house,' she begins, breathing heavily. 'My children are trying to kill me.'
'What do you mean that your children are trying to kill you?' the emergency dispatcher asks.
'They've attacked me and my husband,' Yvonne continues. 'They drugged us with Xanax, they've attacked us and they're trying to kill us.'
'My husband has distracted them and I was able to get to the phone please hurry.'
'They tried to strangle and shoot us, they put Xanax in our food, they thought we were asleep and they tried to attack us, They beat me up, they beat him up, they're trying to kill us.'
'Please please, please hurry,' she continues to repeat. 'Please hurry, please hurry.'
The dispatcher then asks Yvonne where her children and husband are and she reveals that Zachary made it to the garage and was trying to blow the car horn to get their neighbor's attention to the house.

She then tells the dispatcher the names and ages of her sons before revealing her sons are armed.
'They have a shotgun,' she said. 'We have a shotgun and a pistol in the house and I can't find my pistol so I'm assuming they've taken it - and they have his shotgun.'
The dispatcher then asks Yvonne why her sons began their attack.
'I don't know what's going on,' she responded. 'I don't know why they've done this, I really don't, I guess they want the insurance money, I'm not sure.'
She then tells the dispatcher again that she heard her sons say they put Xanax in their drinks and had mentioned it after they began to attack their parents.
'That's why we were so sleepy,' she says. 'We didn't understand why were so sleepy.'

Yvonne then tells the dispatcher she's going to try and lock her bedroom door before saying, 'I just heard them say "Where did mom go?", they're headed upstairs now'.
She can then be heard screaming while a voice on the background is heard asking, 'you on the phone?'
Yvonne then tells the dispatcher what sounds like, 'he's dragging me away,' before her line goes silent and the dispatcher just keeps asking, 'Hello? hello?'
Christopher and Cameron Ervin have been charged with two counts each of aggravated assault as well as first-degree arson.
